United Way Greater Simcoe County supports a vital network
of critical services across our region
When you give to United Way’s Community Fund, you support a network of 24 partner agencies providing vital social services to hundreds of thousands of people throughout the region who need help to realize their dreams of a better, stronger and healthier life. The Community Fund helps in the short term by meeting immediate needs—helping individuals when they need it most; and in the long term by addressing the root causes of social problems through a systematic approach that works to change whole communities and enables residents to reach their full potential.
United Way Greater Simcoe County is the only major funding organization that delivers significant core operating support to social-service agencies. This base support of funding provides stability and allows agencies the flexibility to develop and respond to emerging needs of the communities they serve. In addition to core funding, United Way Greater Simcoe County also supports one-time or special project funding.
Our partner agencies receive our long-term, ongoing financial support, so they can plan ahead
In order to become and remain a United Way partner, agencies must meet strict membership standards and performance criteria. They must be well-established registered Canadian charities with good governance and financial structures, including audited financial statements; and that deliver social services in Greater Simcoe County. Once a member, agencies are regularly reviewed through our volunteer review process.
