PowerStream’s 2016 Employee United Way Campaign was one of the company’s most successful to date, resulting in a near record-setting donation of $205,145 that will be shared between United Way Toronto & York Region and United Way Simcoe Muskoka. The staff team at Borden Family Resource Centre (BFRC) wrapped its annual United Way Simcoe Muskoka (UWSM) campaign on Oct. 28 by presenting a cheque for $1,760.50 to UWSM representative and sponsored employee (and RBC Career Launch Associate) Douglas Landsborough. C.C. Tatham & Associates Ltd. (CCTA) presented a cheque for $28,101.60 to United Way Simcoe Muskoka (UWSM) after wrapping up a successful fund-raising campaign. The drive was company-wide and CCTA have offices in Collingwood, Orillia, Bracebridge, Barrie and Ottawa. Staff donated an impressive $14,050.80 and the company matched those contributions. Held in the lovely Fran Coleman Community Room at The Pines Long-Term Care Home in Bracebridge, the event brought together community and business leaders from across the region on a stormy autumn afternoon to celebrate new opportunities to serve the residents of Muskoka. UWGSC's Women's Leadership Council granted $18,000 in its inaugural year to support local youth mental-health programs. The announcement was made at the Second Annual Women in Leadership Luncheon on May 17, 2016. Read the details here.
